In the care sector, there is a growing demand for flexible housing solutions that meet the needs of people with, for example, a physical disability or progressive illness. Adapteo Benelux responds to this with specially developed care units that offer a practical and high-quality solution for extending independence at home. Account manager Natasja van den Berg explains, "Our care modules enable people to continue living at home for longer. We fully adapt the product to the customer's situation so that the care unit really feels like an extension of the home."
Since October 2023, Dutch Cabin Group has changed its name to Adapteo, following its acquisition by the Swedish group. Adapteo is a leading player in the field of flexible housing in Europe, with approximately 500 employees spread across nine countries. Although the name is new, Van den Berg emphasizes that the familiar identity and expertise of Dutch Cabin Group have been retained: "The core of our work, such as our expertise in concrete floors, steel frames and sandwich panels, remains. We still build with the same focus on quality, now also benefiting from the additional knowledge and resources of an international organization."
Thanks to the increase in scale, Adapteo Benelux is now able to offer a wider range of modules and has greater expertise, specifically for the healthcare sector. "By collaborating with our international colleagues, we have a broader fleet of modules at our disposal. This allows us to serve our customers even better and faster."
One of the solutions offered by Adapteo are care units for people who want to live independently for longer. These care modules are often attached to the home, usually in the garden, and range from just a bathroom to a complete living and/or sleeping area or a combination thereof. The unit meets all the requirements of the Building Code, is wheelchair accessible and can be flexibly adapted. Van den Berg says: "We prefabricate the care units as much as possible in our own factory, so that they can be placed on site virtually ready-made. Virtually everything is taken care of by us, from sewerage to installations, so that the customer is completely relieved."
Circularity is paramount at Adapteo. Hence, the units are reusable. If moving to a care facility later becomes necessary, the modules can easily be removed, modified and repositioned. This also makes the modules circular and sustainable.
For healthcare professionals and healthcare facilities, Adapteo's flexible care units offer a solution that contributes to the well-being of clients. "As people want to live independently for longer and longer, there is more need for adaptable care solutions at home. Our care units offer a solution to this. They are often funded by the national Social Support Act (Wmo) agencies and are ideally suited for use by municipalities and care institutions that work with us to develop a customized care module."
The modular design of the care units offers flexibility in size and finish, so the care solution can always be adapted to personal care needs. With a stylish design and optional additions such as hoists and adapted sanitary facilities, the modules provide a safe and comfortable living environment. Van den Berg concludes, "We are proud of our care units; it is a product that we develop with a lot of attention and that looks beautiful, with a homely appearance. In this way, we can help people to continue living at home for longer in a pleasant and safe way."
