Active heating, cooling and decentralized ventilation in new care complex Topaz

Client Topaz has built a new complex on the grounds of Overduin, intended for residents with Huntington's disease. In addition to this new building, the elderly care organization also thoroughly renovated the main building. The complex is equipped with ClimaRad's decentralized climate system, where safety and a healthy indoor climate for residents and staff are paramount.

Consultant J. van Toorenburg BV suggested ClimaRad within this project. As a result, Topaz visited a reference project in Gorinchem. The enthusiasm about the advantages of the decentralized system ensured that ClimaRad was installed in the care complex in Katwijk aan Zee. The installation contributes to the future-proofing of the new building. When the function of the building changes, it remains flexible in its layout.

ClimaRad Care H1C units were used in the homes, common areas and offices to individually control the climate per room. By means of sensors for CO2, humidity and indoor and outdoor temperature, the correct amount of air is automatically supplied and removed through the facade to create a comfortable living and working environment. In addition to a heat recovery unit, the climate unit also has a convector including additional fans, which can actively cool and heat. The units are wirelessly linked to the ClimaRad Fans, which are placed in the bathrooms, kitchens and toilets. These extraction components therefore extract the correct amount of polluted air and also function on the basis of humidity and presence.
