As a multidisciplinary design firm, Wiegerinck was involved in bringing about Ons Raathuis. Tim Loeters, architect within the Arnhem-based organization, found it an enjoyable project.
Loeters: "The goal was to create a sense of home for the residents. This also included outdoor living. All three parties linked their expertise to this project, and in my eyes you can see this reflected. In any case, we are very proud of the final result." He saw that the collaborating parties were also open to changes. "Almost everything was well thought out, and of course the plans were sometimes modified slightly. This is also part of the involvement of all parties and certainly also of The Pieter Raat Foundation."
Wiegerinck already has 75 years of experience in designing sustainable solutions and has proven to be an important partner in realizations in the healthcare, living with care and research sectors. "The layout of care home Ons Raathuis in Heerhugowaard was slightly different from what we are used to, but this is what made it all so much fun," says Loeters. "Especially when we look at this result. We will take these experiences back to later projects. After all, it's all about creating living enjoyment for the elderly, and as far as I'm concerned, we succeeded thanks to all parties."
