On December 15 in Amsterdam, the Swedish Chamber Business Awards 2023 were presented to successful Swedish companies. The winner of this year's business award in the "Tech For Good" category is Getinge, a global leader in innovative medical technology.
The ceremony, organized by the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the Netherlands in cooperation with the Embassy of Sweden and Business Sweden, took place during the exclusive Annual Dinner at the Hilton Hotel Amsterdam.
Getinge was founded in 1904 in the small town of Getinge, Sweden. Today, Getinge employs more than 10,000 people worldwide and sells its products in more than 135 countries. Getinge provides hospitals and life science institutions with products and solutions designed to improve clinical outcomes and optimize workflows. Its offerings include products and solutions for intensive care, cardiovascular procedures, operating rooms, sterile processing and life sciences.
The judges were particularly enamored with Getinge's example of their collaboration with Bluu Seafood in Germany, presenting their first market-ready products made from cultured fish cells - a groundbreaking achievement that allows consumers to enjoy seafood while prioritizing animal welfare and reducing pressure on marine ecosystems.
Michael Vallon, CFO Getinge DACH/BeNeLux, accepted the Swedish Enterprise Award: "We are tremendously honored to receive this prestigious award. This recognition is a testament to our commitment to advancing healthcare solutions and driving sustainable innovation. Collaborations like the one with Bluu Seafood embody our commitment to making impactful contributions to society and the environment."
The annual Swedish Chamber Business Awards, which began in 2010 as the Swedish Chamber Export Prize, developed into a prestigious recognition for Swedish companies that have made significant progress in the Dutch market.
Getinge is grateful to the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for this valued recognition and remains committed to innovation, sustainability and excellence within the healthcare industry.
