In KOERS, it found the right partner. The construction company, which has healthcare real estate as one of its spearheads, was brought in to design and execute the renovation of the 41 sanitary units.
"Starting from the Program of Requirements of the new building plans, we looked at where we could realize savings. Because we were at the table so early, we were able to contribute ideas on how to realize the renovation faster, better, smarter, more functional and, above all, within budget," says team manager Ton Krijgsman, who is responsible for the realization of the project.
Because of the vulnerable residents, there were strict requirements in terms of routing, storage of building materials and handling of hygiene. The renovation had to be as dust-free as possible and with as little transportation as possible. To minimize inconvenience, six to eight bathrooms were taken care of daily, in different departments spread over three floors. "Intensive planning, listening carefully to the client's wishes and landing on the shop floor are the key to success here," says Krijgsman.
With seven branches and annual sales of about 50 million, KOERS has grown into a construction company of stature. Its three divisions Construction, Technology and Development work together to provide "innovative solutions that make for better buildings.
