Vzw Zilvervogel operates three residential care centers in West Flanders. Due to the cooperation with a new pharmacy, the purchase of new medicine carts was necessary. Medifix turned out to be the ideal partner for this project. The successful collaboration led to practical, new medicine carts with a cozy, homey look.
Medifix is a well-known supplier of medical furniture, specializing in the storage and distribution of medication, furnishing of treatment rooms and nursing and hospital beds. Team coach at WZC Zilvervogel Sabine Delaere saw the healthcare furniture specialist at work during a trade show and was immediately convinced about the medication carts. "Because I have 27 years of experience on the shop floor, it made sense for me to help find the best solution for new medicine carts. I know the needs inside out. The carts had to be time-efficient and safe, without therefore looking sterile and cold. I immediately thought of the application of Medifix and the management was also immediately convinced."
"We strive for a unified approach across all campuses, so we enlisted the expertise of our staff to find the most user-friendly, ergonomic and home-like medicine carts," explains Campus Director of Silverbird Woumen Delphine Bouwet. "The staff use the carts daily and know the needs in the workplace. We test their proposals against the price, quality and requirements we had in mind. The pleasant cooperation with Medifix was an additional plus that we really appreciated."
"It is true that customer friendliness is one of our strengths," explains Joey Raafs. He is junior account manager for Medifix in Belgium and agrees with the positive interaction with Zilvervogel's staff. "We enjoy visiting our customers to let them experience the benefits of our products for themselves. Only then do they get the right impression of the medicine carts to base their choice on."
Medifix organizes the production of its healthcare furniture entirely in-house. To do this, the company works with regular, reliable partners. Raafs: "That has many advantages. In this case, we had a short delivery time, so it was important to act quickly. I called our wood supplier immediately after the visit to inquire about his stock. So we were able to deliver the new medicine carts within six weeks."
The medicine carts are completely adapted to the needs of the residential care center. The wood structure radiates homeliness and warmth, and inspires confidence in the residents. Inside, the arrangement of the medicine drawers is modular. This allows you to adapt as desired or expand easily in the future. The open drawers remain angled in the profile with added security. This allows staff to keep a better overview of the medications and makes using the cart more ergonomic. The push handles also fit nicely and are easy to handle. The carts have an unobtrusive bumper that does not disturb the aesthetic appearance. The work surface is finished with a non-slip coating. For security, a numeric code is required to open the doors. "You have to take a lot of things into account," emphasizes Bouwet. "For example, we consciously choose not to work with loose trash cans. We collect the trash in the cart and empty it after the shift. As a result, no sensitive info about the residents is up for grabs and the quiet image in the hallways is not disturbed. Delaere confirms, "We got one hundred percent the medicine carts we were looking for. We even ordered a few more. Compared to our previous carts, we will be able to use these models for years to come."
