Electrically driven wheels, operated with only one finger, excellent maneuverability and equipped with an ergonomic handle that prevents back and neck pain. This description typifies the EasyMoove from French manufacturer Praticima, with whom Medifix has had a fine partnership since the mid-1990s. Managing director Peter van Driel said, "Praticima recently acquired the Dutch company IMS Medical, which also offers growth opportunities and unique opportunities for us on both the Dutch and Flemish markets."
Praticima develops and manufactures medical equipment for hospitals, medical-social care facilities and pharmacies. It is known for its thorough knowledge and experience. Van Driel: "Medifix started offering disposables in small packages over 45 years ago. Because of our specialization in storage and distribution of medication, we came into contact with Praticima 28 years ago. It had this type of product in its range. The collaboration turned out to be a hit and is mainly based on mutual trust and knowledge sharing." Olivier Lopez, International Business Developer at Praticima: "We have something in common; namely, we both want to continuously improve healthcare with high-quality products and good service. We ensure that safety for the patient and healthcare professional is always paramount. The development and production of the EasyMoove is a great example of this."
With the acquisition of Dutch manufacturer IMS Medical, Praticima has significantly increased its market share in Europe. Lopez: "Medifix, as a Dutch distributor, gets an interesting role, which also extends beyond its own borders. Praticima was already active in Wallonia, the part where its southern neighbors speak French, and we asked it to also take care of the Flemish area, where Dutch is the official language. She knows the Dutch market very well and in this she sees many similarities with Flanders when it comes to the storage and distribution of medicines in hospitals and healthcare institutions. A great opportunity for both of us."
Van Driel: "We have a good sales and service team in the Netherlands and full of confidence we are going to support Praticima to serve the Flemish market even better. I dare say that the secret of our success is that we both share the same DNA. Nothing is too crazy for both of us; developing a larger or just smaller medicine trolley, providing it with new or adapted accessories or completely customizing rolling doors or drawers: we love to do it."
Says Lopez, "A good example of our good cooperation is the development of the Satellite® multisensory care trolley. This fits into the snoezel concept where sound, light, smell and touch promote relaxation and pleasant sensations while reducing unpleasant feelings such as anxiety, stress and anger. It contributes to the patient's well-being. Our common motto is; customization is the standard, with which we always want to continue to make a substantial contribution to the entire healthcare system. Together with our manufacturer Praticima, we continue to think along in terms of opportunities and possibilities."
