Tunstall Healthcare, a global leader in health and healthcare technology, has announced the appointment effective May 16, 2022, of Emil Peters as Group CEO.
With its 65th anniversary, Tunstall Healthcare is celebrating a milestone this year, marked by Emil Peters joining the management team. He succeeds Gordon Sutherland as CEO, to continue innovating in the healthcare marketplace. Peters will lead the company into the next generation without losing sight of the day-to-day challenges in health and social care. This appointment follows the recent arrival of Gary Steen as CTO (chief technology officer).
Globally, the Tunstall Group operates in health, social care and housing. The group provides a range of technology solutions for vulnerable people, improving quality of life and enabling independent living.
Peters comes from Cerner Global, where he held the position of president, managing all regions except the US. Peters is a veteran at Cerner, joining the company nearly 25 years ago and holding various positions in various boards and markets until his appointment as president in 2017, for which he was based in Belgium, Spain, the US and the UK. He brings with him his knowledge in the field of data integration in healthcare, as well as first-hand experience in the development and application of advanced software solutions in healthcare structures in various territories. Says Peters, "It is an honor to join such a long-standing and well-established company. The work the team at Tunstall has done so far is remarkable. The technology the company develops and delivers is critical for our most vulnerable members of society. I am excited to learn from my new colleagues and work with them to grow the organization into a true solution provider to enable people worldwide to live better and longer independent lives."
"It is the people within a company that make it. Technical know-how and relevant experience are hugely important, but passion, understanding, collaboration and a shared vision is what takes an organization to the next level," Peters said. "I look forward to embarking on this journey with Tunstall."
"As we enter our 65th year of business and continue to expand our capabilities in digital technology, I am very excited to have Emil join us at the helm," said Peter Nicklin, President of Tunstall Group. "His management experience at Cerner will be extremely useful in enabling our team to deliver products and services that can, ultimately, save lives."
