Salto Systems specializes in safe, simple and hygienic access control systems for healthcare. "In doing so, we move with the developments and needs in this industry," says Pieter van Liebergen, Business Development Manager for Healthcare. "Current themes include working with freelancers, who need access to patients and medication, and the secure storage of patient data. Moreover, healthcare institutions want to give their clients as much (freedom of movement) as possible in a secure manner. Our solutions contribute to this."
Salto Systems' vision is clear: to simplify processes so that healthcare providers can focus on providing care to the maximum extent possible. "Healthcare needs flexible, advanced solutions that grow with new technologies and needs. This is where we provide it."
Because healthcare facilities employ many different freelancers, Van Liebergen says it is vital that they have easy and secure access to the right rooms and data. "However, there are strict rules for safely storing data of (changing) employees. The NEN 7510 standard (derived from ISO 27001) is tailored to information security of patient data and file data within healthcare. We therefore offer various software solutions, where minimal data is stored in the cloud, secured by means of two-factor authentication. System administrators can easily assign who has access and monitor activity in real time. With a digital key, temporary workers can then get to where they need to be."
Salto's systems are combined with all of the company's access elements. "We can provide a total package of software and hardware. Our software and hardware are flexible and user-friendly and easy to integrate with third-party systems. This includes not only door hardware, but also smart, keyless convenience for lockers and cabinets in cooperation with Gantner. Our versatile solutions enable cost savings, both in terms of installation (for example, by opting for battery locks) and maintenance."
The Care and Compulsion Act aims to give clients as much freedom as possible. However, there are also increasing numbers of elderly people with dementia who sometimes get lost. "The law is nice, but it also needs to be worked with practically. Care institutions do this, for example, with living circles, where certain doors open when the resident is wearing a wearable. It is also possible to integrate a tracking system with GPS into our software."
Salto offers the right solution for every situation. Also when it comes to smart locks for heavier wards, where it is desirable to be able to block a room for a short time. For this there is the wired Brondool Carelock. "This can be integrated into an existing lock and is fully programmable. This allows employees to briefly block a door or prevent residents from entering the wrong room. For us, simplicity and integration possibilities are always at the forefront. We also want to ensure the safety of clients and employees."
Salto Systems becomes SALTO WECOSYSTEM
In recent years, Salto Systems acquired 11 companies offering relevant solutions and products for the healthcare sector. Under the new brand identity SALTO WECOSYSTEM, introduced during the Facility & Building Management Trade Fair, all these companies work together on innovative solutions. "For our customers, nothing will change. However, the three different brands that make up SALTO WECOSYSTEM - Salto, Gantner and Vintia - are going to work together even more. We have one common ambition: to enable smart access. Together we create products and solutions that positively affect people's daily lives, in this we complement each other."
