Aan de Tump is a beautiful new residential location built on the grounds of Daelzicht in Heel. The location has its own day care area and, with 19 apartments, offers a home to elderly people with a mental disability and intensive care needs. This residential care location, developed by Daelzicht and furnished by Exsta, is designed not only to meet the physical care needs, but also to provide an environment that promotes the mental and social health of the residents.

The buildings are designed to exude a homely atmosphere. This is achieved by dividing the studios into small groups, each with its own living room and kitchen. This small-scale design contributes to a sense of security and makes the residents feel at home. In each living room, a careful balance has been sought between contemporary and recognizable colors, materials and accessories. The use of different themes and contrasting colors helps make the spaces recognizable and orderly, which is important for residents with dementia.
The spacious living rooms are furnished with cozy sitting areas that invite social contact. At the same time, there is ample opportunity for residents to retreat for a moment when they need privacy. This balance ensures that the living spaces feel lively and comfortable, and that residents feel at ease in their surroundings.
In addition to visual elements, scent also plays an important role in the well-being of residents. Adding olfactory experiences, with scents that are familiar and recognizable to residents, creates a safe and pleasant atmosphere. This can help reduce agitation and anxiety, providing an overall sense of well-being.
The common areas such as the day care rooms and the central kitchen and living room in the center of the building provide an integral working environment for staff and promote interaction among residents. This approach not only supports residents' care needs, but also promotes their mental and social well-being.
This approach created a high-quality residential care building with positive impact, bringing together architecture, interior design, care and community spirit in a holistically designed environment. The environment provides a safe, comfortable and stimulating living environment for residents, supports care staff and contributes to an inclusive community.
