For over forty years, family-owned Medimpex has been active in the healthcare market. As a supplier of durable investment goods, it has a strong focus on providing user-efficient medication carts and cabinets.
Holding your own in a market that is subject to all kinds of influences is a matter of being open-minded and innovative. By listening carefully to customers' wishes, Medimpex's products are always a good fit. Relationship Manager Kees Laan: "In addition to our standard cabinets and carts, we have also been offering a Care-Design line for a number of years. This line, unlike the other series, is produced in-house and is made entirely of sustainable woods and stainless steel accents. This offers more flexibility and thus makes it possible to execute the cabinets in the user's house style."
Medimpex's Care-Design line is primarily found in the Care side of healthcare. "Wherever medicines are stored and distributed safely and conveniently, our products have long offered solutions. This ranges from nursing homes to care for the disabled, but also, for example, in correctional facilities. And, if desired, completely customized and in keeping with the house style so that the residents and care staff are also guaranteed a homely atmosphere," says Laan.
Medimpex is broadly oriented and, in addition to durable investment goods, also offers a wide range of ADL aids for both healthcare institutions, home care and private individuals. The main focus, however, is on medicine distribution and internal transport solutions. These include medication carts and cabinets and, to support the facility process, a wide range of laundry carts and waste collectors. Monthly consultation with the manufacturer ensures that there is always room for improvement, in order to quickly respond to the innovative needs of the market. These short lines of communication also make it pleasant for the user to do business, which often results in long-term collaborations. Another advantage of the involved contact between supplier, manufacturer and user is that solution-oriented work can be done.
For example, Medimpex recently developed a solution for the empty Baxter pouches upon request. Laan: "Those bags with medication are personalized; they have the users' data on them. It is therefore desirable not to throw them in the regular waste. We developed a special 'mailbox-size' bin into which these pouches can be thrown after use. The care staff can then empty them and dispose of them responsibly." These compact waste bins can easily be hung on the carts, but can also be attached to the wall in the hallway, for example
In addition to carts, the range also includes cabinets, which can be used as medicine cabinets or dressing cabinets. Both, however, require their own specific fixtures. "A dressing cabinet usually contains only baskets, while a medicine cabinet sometimes also needs to have a lockable section, or a refrigerator if desired. Because of the profile walls we use for our cabinets, there is a suitable solution for almost all requirements. And even if the refrigerator prefers to be placed separately in the ward, we can provide it with a conversion cabinet. Then the whole thing stays in keeping with the homely look."
Expectations for the future are good and challenging. "We remain alert. For example, we see the market in the field of locking systems changing very quickly. If people use a tag to open doors, it is nice if the locked cart or cabinet can be opened with that same tag. We would like to match that, so we try to make such a system fit our cabinets and carts. By continuing to develop in this way, we can continue to meet the needs of our customers," Laan concludes.
